Honest limits

Things that will waste your time if you assume otherwise.

Product shape

1. Typed tools are MCP-only. Guessing REST paths for get_reference_implementation / compose / friends returns 404. There is no OpenAPI document; schemas live on the MCP server card.
2. have is free; Ask / MCP are metered. Trial mint + daily IP caps both exist — read live numbers on /developers.
3. X-Syntology-Dev is not a login. It only affects Atlas metering for internal map checks. You still need a Bearer token where the API requires one.
4. unknown_name ≠ no_code. Near matches mean the resolver did not commit.
5. Atlas is not a full graph browser API. Pairwise path can work while neighbourhood-style bulk citation lists 404.
6. Docs button history. The Atlas header Docs link used to point at /developers. These Pages tutorials are the how-to home; /developers remains the machine-oriented trial/MCP page.

If this page and /developers disagree on trial size or expiry, trust /developers and the response headers — copy here can lag a deploy.

When the map looks “wrong”

• Empty WebGL / blank map → browser graphics permissions.
• Flat colour on a lens → that lens may be hidden or unsupported in the current build (Venues has been deliberately hidden for this reason).
• Path through empty-titled nodes → stub-family noise; do not cite it as literature structure.
